Autism Diagnostic Evaluations We are known and highly respected in our work with autism throughout the Philadelphia and Tri-State area and now offer autism diagnosis evaluations. We have been in practice as licensed psychologists for over 18 years helping families of children with special needs to cope with day to day demands. In addition to ongoing counseling and supportive therapy for special families we offer diagnostic evaluations for Autism Spectrum Disorders in children from age 2-3, through adulthood. Our evaluation consists of a review of recent medical exams and clinical findings, observer reports, family history, our own clinical expertise, and appropriate assessment instruments including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (the ‘gold standard’ for assessment and diagnosis of Autism and PDD across ages, developmental levels and language skill). An observation at home or at school may also be included. Following the evaluation, information is synthesized in a clinical report. We meet with parents to discuss findings, offer recommendations, and begin to set services in place if necessary. A copy of the report is sent to the referring provider and we continue to work cooperatively with other providers in the family’s continued care. As parents of an adult child with autism and clinicians with many years experience, we excel at working sensitively with families through this process. So there are no surprises, families should know that the cost for the full evaluation including report (without home or school observation), is $1500.00. We can give you an itemized receipt to submit to your insurance carrier; most plans do cover part of this service. At this time, the waiting list is 4-6 weeks.
